Omnisend pricing changes
Omnisend sells Standard and Pro through a contact calculator, and the number on the invoice is billable contacts rather than subscribers alone. On 4 May 2026 it also split SMS: new paid accounts lost Standard SMS and Pro included credits, while earlier paid accounts keep legacy SMS terms unless they cancel or downgrade.

The 4 May 2026 SMS change
In force from 4 May 2026. Email Standard and Pro contact floors did not move with it. SMS access and how SMS is metered did.
| Rule | Paid before 4 May 2026 | Paid from 4 May 2026 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| SMS on Standard | SMS Credits Subscription available at legacy rates | SMS not available for new paid Standard accounts | Accounts that subscribed to a paid plan before 4 May 2026 can keep buying SMS on Standard at legacy rates. New Standard subscriptions on or after that date cannot send SMS. |
| SMS on Pro | Included SMS credits equal to the monthly subscription price | Volume-based SMS add on from 0.007 dollars per message, no included credits | Pro accounts opened on or after 4 May 2026 buy SMS separately on volume tiers. Pre-change Pro accounts keep included credits equal to the subscription price unless they downgrade or cancel. |
| What happens after a cancel or Free downgrade | Legacy SMS terms could continue with the account history | Re-subscribe under the May 2026 rules | Omnisend states that cancelling a paid plan or downgrading Pro to Free and later re-subscribing moves the account onto the post-4 May 2026 SMS rules with no path back to legacy SMS terms. |
| Email Standard and Pro contact ladders | Billed on billable contacts (subscribers plus non subscribers) | Same contact billing mechanic | The May 2026 change is an SMS meter change. Standard still includes 12 times billable contacts in email credits. Pro still removes the email cap. Entry Regular prices stay 16 dollars on Standard and 59 dollars on Pro at the published floors. |
A pricing calculator read the day before and the day after would still show the same Standard and Pro contact dollars. The change sits beside the email plan. New Standard accounts cannot buy SMS. New Pro accounts buy volume SMS from $0.01 per message without included credits. Legacy Pro keeps credits equal to the subscription price while the paid plan stays active.
Cancelling or dropping Pro to Free and later re-subscribing is the trap. Omnisend states that move ends legacy SMS terms. The email ladder for those decisions still lives on Omnisend pricing.
Who counts as a billable contact
This is the rule that moves an Omnisend bill without a published price change. It was already in force on the check date and sits under every Standard and Pro cell.
| Contact status | Status meaning | On the bill | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscribed | On the billable count | Still billed | Opted in to marketing on email, SMS or push. The number most people mean when they say list size. |
| Non subscribed | On the billable count | Still billed | Placed an order, abandoned a cart, created an account or arrived in an import without a marketing consent box. They never opted in and they are still billed, because Omnisend can still send them transactional and automated messages. |
| Unsubscribed | Outside the billable count | Still not billed | Opted out after consenting. Omnisend states on the pricing page and on four help pages that unsubscribers are not charged for, and it advises unsubscribing inactive contacts rather than deleting them so the purchase history survives. |
A store with 4,000 subscribers and 2,000 checkout customers who never opted in is billed at 6,000 contacts. That is why an invoice can rise while the marketing list does not. Unsubscribers are the only status outside the count on the pages this dataset reads.
The Standard and Pro ladder as recorded
Month to month. Omnisend publishes no standing annual rate, so the annual column stays empty rather than derived from a discount that does not exist.
Prices are compiled from public vendor pages and can lag behind a change. Cells marked Der are calculated from published rules and cells marked Est are rough figures. Neither is an invoice or a quote, so confirm with the vendor before you spend.

Standard opens at $16 for 500 billable contacts. Pro opens at $59 from the 2,500 contact floor, so smaller Pro lists pay that floor. The one time starter discount is 30 percent for 3 months up front on a first upgrade, then billing returns to the regular monthly price.
Every priced Standard and Pro stop from 500 to 50,000 contacts was read off the Omnisend pricing calculator on 25 September 2026. Standard at 10,000 is recorded at $132. Omnisend stays on the watchlist outside the six vendor tables.
