First SideBySend snapshot published
Six vendors recorded at eight contact breakpoints, with plan name, monthly price, annual monthly equivalent where published, billing model, source and a confidence rating on every cell.
Effect on a bill. This is the baseline. Every later snapshot is a diff against these numbers.

- Plan restructureMailerLiteVerified
MailerLite stopped selling Growing Business and Advanced
After 13 August 2026 the old plan names were gone. Existing paid accounts move to Comfort or Power at their next renewal. Switching to annual billing counts as a manual plan change and moves the account to the new structure and the new prices immediately.
Effect on a bill. Anyone still on a legacy price loses it at renewal. Switching to annual to save 10 percent triggers the move early, which can cost more than the saving.

- Price increaseMailerLiteVerified
MailerLite repriced and renamed its paid plans
Growing Business became Comfort and Advanced became Power. Paid tier prices went up by roughly 10 to 30 percent depending on subscriber count. Comfort opens at 12 dollars a month and Power at 25, both at 500 subscribers. The free plan was cut at the same time, from 500 subscribers and 12,000 monthly emails to 250 subscribers and 2,500 monthly emails.
Effect on a bill. The entry prices barely moved. The middle of the ladder took most of the increase, which is why the MailerLite rows above 1,000 subscribers are marked as estimates until the slider is read again.

- Price increaseMailchimpEstimate
Mailchimp raised legacy account prices by roughly 11 to 13 percent
Accounts still sitting on older plan pricing were moved up by about 11 to 13 percent. The public tier table did not change, so the increase only shows on invoices rather than on the pricing page.
Effect on a bill. An older Mailchimp account can now pay more than the published number for the same tier. Compare an invoice against the table rather than assuming the table applies.

- Free tier cutMailchimpVerified
Mailchimp cut the free plan to 250 contacts and 500 monthly sends
The free plan went from 500 contacts and 1,000 monthly sends to 250 contacts and 500 monthly sends, with a 250 a day cap. Trackers logged the change between mid January and February 2026.
Effect on a bill. A free list between 250 and 500 contacts now has to pay. The cheapest paid step is Essentials at 13 dollars a month.

- Billing rule changeActiveCampaignVerified
ActiveCampaign started billing new accounts for all contacts
Accounts created on or after 3 November 2025 are billed for every contact in the account, including unsubscribed, bounced and unconfirmed ones. Accounts created before that date still count only active contacts. There was no public announcement, so most people find out when the contact count looks wrong.
Effect on a bill. On a new account, dead contacts push the bill into higher tiers. A 9,000 contact list carrying 2,500 unsubscribes and bounces is billed as 11,500 contacts, which moves Plus from the 10,000 tier to the 25,000 tier.

- Billing rule changeBrevoVerified
Brevo tied stored contact limits to send volume bands
Paid plans gained hard contact limits set by the volume band. The 5,000 send band allows 500 contacts, 10,000 allows 1,500, 15,000 allows 2,500, and bands from 20,000 upward allow up to 500,000. Crossing the contact cap upgrades the plan automatically.
Effect on a bill. Brevo is no longer pure per send pricing at the bottom of the ladder. A 1,000 contact list has to buy the 10,000 send band even if it only sends 4,000 emails a month.

- Price increaseKitVerified
Kit repriced Creator and retired the 15 dollar entry tier
Kit raised paid plan prices by roughly 35 percent and removed the old 15 dollar Creator tier. Creator now opens at 39 dollars a month and Creator Pro at 79, both at 1,000 subscribers. The free Newsletter plan stayed at 10,000 subscribers.
Effect on a bill. Kit's floor for a paid plan went up by about 24 dollars a month. Any guide still quoting 15 dollars is describing pricing that no longer exists.

What gets an entry
A published price moving, a free tier changing, a plan being renamed or retired, or a change in how a vendor counts what it bills for. Feature releases do not get an entry unless they move a price.
Each weekly snapshot also gets a line of its own, so the dataset has a history separate from the vendors. A number corrected after the fact is written up here rather than quietly replaced.
