Free plans sit on different limits
- MailerLite Free
- 250
- The cut landed with the paid reprice on the same day. Passing 250 active subscribers locks campaigns and automations on a free account until the list comes back down or the account goes paid.
- Omnisend Free
- 250
- Reach limit of 250 contacts and 500 emails a month
- Comfort at 500
- $12
- The first paid MailerLite stop after the free ceiling. Omnisend Standard at the same size is $16.
MailerLite cut its free plan to 250 subscribers in June 2026. Omnisend free reach stops at 250 contacts, so the paid comparison only starts once both lists need more than those free ceilings allow.
Sends and what each one counts
MailerLite. The subscriber limit counts unique subscribers with an active status. MailerLite states on both its pricing page and its billing help page that unsubscribed and bounced contacts do not count. Unconfirmed subscribers are not active either, which is where the unconfirmed answer comes from rather than a separate statement. Comfort allows about ten times the ceiling of the subscriber tier each month. Power removes the send cap.
Omnisend. Opted in to marketing on email, SMS or push. The number most people mean when they say list size. Non subscribed contacts are billed too. Unsubscribed contacts are not. Omnisend Standard meters emails under the contact count. Omnisend Pro removes that email send cap.
