Comparison
HubSpot vs ActiveCampaign pricing
These products do not share a billing shape. ActiveCampaign sells Starter and Plus on a contact ladder with send allowances. HubSpot Marketing Hub sells edition bases, Core Seats and marketing-contact packs from the Product and Services Catalog. This page keeps catalog USD beside ActiveCampaign LIVE cells and does not invent a HubSpot eight-breakpoint matrix.
The bill shapes are not the same
- HubSpot Starter base
- $20
- Per Core Seat. 1,000 marketing contacts included.
- ActiveCampaign Starter at 1k
- $19
- Verified entry stop. Plus is $59. Annual headline on Starter is $15.
- HubSpot Professional base
- $890
- 3 Core Seats. Onboarding $3,000 one-time.
ActiveCampaign prices stored contacts, and accounts opened on or after 3 November 2025 count every contact in the account. HubSpot prices an edition base, then Core Seats, then marketing-contact packs on top. Comparing a HubSpot Starter seat sticker to an ActiveCampaign Starter cell without saying which seats and which contact packs are in play mixes two meters.
HubSpot cells on this page prefer the Product and Services Catalog. The Marketing pricing UI can show suite or Customer Platform packaging, but its Marketing Hub list prices match the catalog, as do those on HubSpot's pricing calculator, read 26 September 2026. Only promotional prices, such as the new customer Starter seat, stay out.
ActiveCampaign Starter across eight list sizes
LIVE ladder from the dated dataset. Starter is the ActiveCampaign comparison plan. Plus sits in the notes. Empty monthly cells stay empty.
Prices are compiled from public vendor pages and can lag behind a change. Cells marked Der are calculated from published rules and cells marked Est are rough figures. Neither is an invoice or a quote, so confirm with the vendor before you spend.

HubSpot catalog edition bases
Verified catalog stickers for new customers after 5 March 2024. Not a contact ladder.
| Edition | Base | Core Seats | Extra seat | Included contacts | Onboarding | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $20 / seat | 1 | $20 | 1,000 | not required | Verified |
| Professional | $890 | 3 | $50 | 2,000 | $3,000 one-time | Verified |
| EnterpriseBilled annually | $3,600 | 5 | $75 | 10,000 | $7,000 one-time | Verified |
Enterprise is billed annually only at $3,600 a month equivalent, with 10,000 marketing contacts included and onboarding at $7,000. Starter and Professional marketing-contact packs live on HubSpot marketing contacts pricing.
Worked examples at four list sizes
HubSpot Starter assumes one Core Seat. Professional uses the edition base plus catalog contact packs. Onboarding fees are one-time and sit outside the monthly figures. Pack totals are derived from verified catalog rates. ActiveCampaign empty monthly cells stay empty.
| List size | HubSpot Starter | HubSpot Professional | AC Starter | AC Plus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 Starter included contacts cover this size. Professional base includes 2,000 contacts. | $20 Derived pack math | $890 Derived pack math, plus $3,000 onboarding | $19 Dataset cell | $59 Dataset cell |
| 5,000 Starter packs from catalog bands. Professional adds one 5,000 contact pack above its 2,000 included. | $210 Derived pack math | $1,140 Derived pack math, plus $3,000 onboarding | $99 Dataset cell | $179 Dataset cell |
| 10,000 Starter packs continue. Professional needs contact packs above 2,000. | $410 Derived pack math | $1,390 Derived pack math, plus $3,000 onboarding | $189 Dataset cell | $239 Dataset cell |
| 25,000 Starter and Professional pack math from catalog bands only. This is the largest list AC Starter is sold for. | $1,010 Derived pack math | $2,115 Derived pack math, plus $3,000 onboarding | $489 Dataset cell | $489 Dataset cell |
At 1,000 contacts HubSpot Starter is $20 for one seat against ActiveCampaign Starter at $19. At 10,000 contacts Starter pack math reaches $410 while ActiveCampaign Starter is $189 and Plus is $239. Professional stays far above both ActiveCampaign plans once the edition base is in the bill.
Paying yearly on ActiveCampaign and HubSpot
Per month at 10,000 contacts, paid month to month and paid for a year up front.
| Plan | Paid monthly | Paid yearly, per month | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| ActiveCampaign Starter | $189Ver | $149Ver | ActiveCampaign's pricing page defaults to annual billing and shows the annual price as a per month figure. It prints no percent. |
| HubSpot Professional | $1,390Der | $1,250Der | Billed as 12,000 contacts. Monthly payment still carries a 12 month commitment. |
| HubSpot Enterprise | Not sold monthly | $3,600Ver | Billed as 10,000 contacts. Sold billed annually only. |

At this size ActiveCampaign's annual price takes a bigger share off than HubSpot's, and it covers the whole plan price, where HubSpot discounts the Professional base, its seats and its contact packs. Both lead with the annual figure: ActiveCampaign's pricing page defaults to annual billing, and HubSpot's calculator opens on Pay Annually.

Sends and what each one counts
ActiveCampaign send allowances sit around ten to fifteen times the contact limit by plan, with overage billed per extra email when the page publishes it. HubSpot marketing email send limits scale with the marketing-contact tier: Starter at 5 times, Professional at 10 times, and Enterprise at 20 times that tier. Those HubSpot multiples are catalog feature limits, not a separate dollar meter.
ActiveCampaign. One question, two answers, split by a date. Accounts created on or after 3 November 2025 are billed for every contact whatever its list status. Accounts created on or before 2 November 2025 are billed for active contacts only. ActiveCampaign publishes both answers in the same help article.
HubSpot. For new customers after 5 March 2024, Marketing Hub Starter is priced per Core Seat, and Professional and Enterprise start at a base price that includes Core Seats. Marketing contacts sit on top of the edition: included contacts come with the base, and further contacts are sold in catalog bands. Non-marketing contacts are free up to an overall contact ceiling of 15 million (marketing plus non-marketing). Exceeding the marketing-contact tier bills immediately. Designating contacts as non-marketing takes effect at the start of the following month or contract renewal, whichever comes first, and contact-tier downgrades wait until renewal.
There is no free plan to limit. ActiveCampaign publishes no free tier, so the entry price is the floor. HubSpot Marketing Hub has no free edition on the recorded catalog ladder.
