Omnisend pricing at fixed list sizes

Omnisend bills on contacts, and the contacts it bills for are not the ones most stores count. Anyone who placed an order or abandoned a cart is billable whether or not they ever opted in, which is why an Omnisend invoice can climb while the subscriber number sits still.

Snapshot 6, checked 26 October 2026. Recorded outside the cross vendor tables. Vendor pricing page.

Short answer

Omnisend has a free plan for up to two hundred fifty contacts. Paid plans start at $16 a month on Standard and $59 a month on Pro, and both rise with your billable contact count. At 5,000 contacts Standard is $81 a month and Pro is $90 (checked 26 October 2026, re-read 29 October 2026 with no change). There is no yearly discount, only a one time 30 percent off your first three months paid up front. Customers who never opted in still count toward the bill. Use the calculator for your own list size.

Standard at 2,500 billable contacts: $44 a month at the regular price, or $30.80 a month for the first 3 months ($92.40 paid up front). First year: $488.40. That is $39.60 less than paying the regular price all year, and the discount can be used once. Standard includes 30,000 email credits a month.

Regular monthly prices, month to month, read off the Omnisend pricing calculator and checked 26 October 2026. The one time 30 percent starter discount is not in these figures. Pro below 2,500 contacts carries down the 2,500 contact entry price and is labeled derived. SMS and add ons are extra.

Each row is the billable contact count, not the subscriber count. The Omnisend pricing page calculator was read band by band on 16 October 2026 and every Standard and Pro price in this table matched the 25 September reading.

  • First three months: the one time 30 percent starter discount takes Standard to $56.70 and Pro to $63.00 a month for three months, paid up front, and billing then returns to the regular price. Der

Why Omnisend is recorded here and not in the pricing tables

The seven vendors in the cross vendor tables on this site are read off their own pricing pages. Omnisend runs a slider driven calculator instead of printing a table, and its help centre answers tier questions by pointing back at that calculator.

The ladder below is read off that calculator. On 25 September 2026 every priced stop from 500 to 50,000 contacts was read band by band, and on 16 October 2026 the same calculator was read again with every Standard and Pro price unchanged. The calculator shows a 30 percent starter discount and a three month total at the regular price. The regular monthly price is that total divided by three, so Standard at 25,000 contacts is $282 a month, and that regular price is what every row records.

So Omnisend is recorded, dated and sourced here, and it stays out of the comparison tables, the free plan records, the contact counting records and the cell counts. It is the second vendor to sit in that position, after Klaviyo, and both are ecommerce platforms that sell through a calculator. That is the shape of the problem rather than a coincidence.

Both plans, all eight breakpoints

Month to month billing. The annual column is empty on every row, because Omnisend publishes no standing annual rate.

Prices are compiled from public vendor pages and can lag behind a change. Cells marked Der are calculated from published rules and cells marked Est are rough figures. Neither is an invoice or a quote, so confirm with the vendor before you spend.

14 of the 16 priced cells are read off the Omnisend pricing calculator, and 2 carry down the Pro entry price, because Pro is not sold below 2,500 contacts. The 100,000 row is read off the same calculator at the 95,001 to 100,000 band. Omnisend quotes a custom plan above 150,000 contacts.

The shape worth noticing is the middle. Standard and Pro are $9 apart at 5,000 contacts and $18 apart at 10,000, so the question Pro answers is whether unlimited sending is worth that gap rather than whether the list is large.

The number Omnisend bills is not the number most stores count

Three contact statuses, and only one of them is the one people mean by list size.

  • Subscribed: billed. Opted in to marketing on email, SMS or push. The number most people mean when they say list size.
  • Non subscribed: billed. Placed an order, abandoned a cart, created an account or arrived in an import without a marketing consent box. They never opted in and they are still billed, because Omnisend can still send them transactional and automated messages.
  • Unsubscribed: not billed. Opted out after consenting. Omnisend states on the pricing page and on four help pages that unsubscribers are not charged for, and it advises unsubscribing inactive contacts rather than deleting them so the purchase history survives.

source checked 26 October 2026 Ver

A store with 4,000 people who opted in and 2,000 customers who bought without opting in is billed at 6,000 contacts, which on Standard is two tiers above where the subscriber count would put it. Nothing about the marketing list changed to get there. The checkout did it.

The way back down is to unsubscribe rather than delete. Unsubscribe them. That takes them off the billable count while keeping their history, and the lower tier lands on the next billing cycle rather than immediately. Deleting works too and it takes the purchase history with it, which is why Omnisend advises against it on the same pages that explain the billing.

How Omnisend decides what to charge

Omnisend bills on billable contacts, which is subscribers plus non subscribers. A non subscriber is someone who placed an order, abandoned a cart or was imported without opting in, and they are billed because Omnisend can still send them automated messages. Unsubscribers are the only status outside the count. Standard includes 12 times the contact count in monthly email credits and Pro removes the email cap entirely. The tier is recounted every billing day, so it moves up and down on its own as the contact count crosses a stop.

Standard meters email and Pro does not. At 10,000 contacts Standard includes 120,000 emails a month, which is 12 sends to the full list, so a weekly newsletter never comes close to it and a store running abandoned cart flows, back in stock alerts and a welcome series can. Passing the allowance prompts an upgrade rather than charging an overage.

The tier is recounted on every billing day, so it moves in both directions on its own. That is the opposite of the arrangement on the other ecommerce platform recorded here, where the upgrade is automatic and the downgrade has to be switched on.

The free plan is a reach limit rather than a storage limit

Omnisend will hold as many contacts as an account imports and let it reach 250 of them in a billing cycle, on 500 emails and 500 web push notifications a month. The ceiling sits below 500 contacts, which is the smallest breakpoint here, so the free plan holds no cells in this dataset and is recorded as a limit instead.

Contacts can be uploaded without limit and only 250 of them can be reached in a billing cycle, so the ceiling is a reach limit rather than a storage limit. Passing the 500 email allowance prompts an upgrade instead of sending.

What the table cannot show

  • Omnisend is recorded here but is not in the cross vendor tables on this site, which cover seven vendors.
  • The pricing page runs a slider driven calculator rather than a printed table, and the Omnisend help centre answers tier questions by pointing at that calculator. Every priced stop from 500 to 50,000 contacts was read off that calculator on 25 September 2026. Pro at 500 and 1,000 contacts carries down the 2,500 contact entry price, because Pro is not sold smaller.
  • The calculator shows a 30 percent starter discount and a total for the first three months at the regular price. The regular monthly price is that total divided by three, and it is the figure every row records.
  • The billable contact count is what decides an Omnisend bill, not the subscriber count. A store with 4,000 subscribers and 2,000 customers who never opted in is billed at 6,000 contacts.
  • There is no standing annual discount. Omnisend sells a one time starter discount of 30 percent for three months up front, so the annual column stays empty rather than being derived from a rate Omnisend does not publish.
  • SMS, the personalised content add on and send time optimisation are separate meters bought on top of the contact plan. Pro buys SMS separately from 0.007 dollars a message with no included credits. Omnisend retired Legacy Pro, which included credits equal to the subscription price, on 26 October 2026 and moved those brands to the current Pro. None of that is in these numbers. Prices exclude VAT.

Recorded Omnisend changes

  1. Verified

Omnisend will retire Legacy Pro on 26 October 2026

Omnisend's own help articles say that Pro accounts opened before 4 May 2026 are on Legacy Pro, which includes SMS credits with the plan, and that Legacy Pro retires on 26 October 2026. Those brands then move automatically to the current Pro, where new SMS credits are no longer included and SMS is bought as a separate subscription starting at 0.007 dollars a message. The pricing page was read again on 16 October 2026 and every Standard and Pro contact tier price matched the figure already on this site.

Effect on a bill. No contact tier price moved. A store on Legacy Pro that relies on the included SMS credits will start paying for SMS separately after 26 October 2026, so the SMS line of its bill rises even though the Pro price at its list size does not.

    source checked 16 October 2026

  2. Verified

Omnisend moved Pro SMS onto tiered volume rates

Accounts subscribing to Pro on or after 4 May 2026 buy SMS as a subscription starting at 0.007 dollars a message, with the rate stepping down at 50, 500, 1,000 and 10,000 dollars of monthly spend. Pro still includes SMS credits equal to the monthly subscription price. Standard and free accounts buy SMS as a separate subscription from 10 dollars a month.

Effect on a bill. Nothing in the contact ladder moved, so the price cells on this site are unchanged. It splits Pro accounts by signup date on the SMS line of the bill, and it rewards volume, so a store sending a lot of messages pays less per message than one that signed up before the change.
